HOW TO DISABLE JAVASCRIPT IN ALL BROWSERS



JavaScript is a standardized, cross-platform, scripting language often used within web browsers to create interactive applications for dynamic web pages. Some users may wish to disable JavaScript for its potential to present compatibility issues and leave a system or a network exposed to security vulnerabilities.

This article explains how to disable JavaScript in several different web browsers.



Follow the stesps below to disable javascript in your browser:
  1. Disabling JavaScript in Mozilla Firefox:
  2. Open Firefox.
  3. In the address bar, type about:config and press enter.
  4. Click "I'll be careful, I promise!" on the next dialogue that comes up.
  5.  Find the preference named javascript.enabled. To easily find the option, type the word "javascript" in the search bar.
  6. Right-click on javascript.enabled and select "Toggle." The status should change to "user set" and the preference should become emboldened.
  7. Close the about:config tab.
Disabling JavaScript in Internet Explorer:
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
  3. From the drop down menu, select "Internet Options."
  4. Click on the "Security" tab.
  5. Select "Custom Level" and scroll around until you find the "Scripting" section.
  6. Under Active Scripting, click the "Disable" option.
Disabling JavaScript in Safari:
  1. Open Safari.
  2. At the top of the screen, click on the menu that is labeled "Safari." Select "Preferences" from the resulting drop-down menu.
  3. Click on the Security tab.
  4. Remove the check mark from the box labeled "Enable JavaScript."


Disabling JavaScript in Google Chrome:
  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the three horizontal bars in the upper right-hand corner of the window.
  3. Click on "Settings." A new tab should open displaying the Settings page.
  4. Click on "Show advanced settings."
  5. Scroll down to "Privacy" and click on the "Content Settings" button.
  6. Scroll down to "JavaScript" and click on the "Do not allow any site to run JavaScript" radio button.
  7. Click on the "Done" button
